Overall New York experience
Being in such a monumental, and globally renowned city was very surreal. I had never been to America, let alone its most famous city, so the whole experience was very big and exciting.
I think that the most surreal parts of the trip where simply walking around and seeing the streets that are the backdrop for so many of the films, TV shows and photoshoots that i watch on a daily basis. It felt almost as i was walking around on a set, and seeing all the sights i was so familiar with in real life.
I can see how just the normal streets of New York can provide so much inspiration for all these projects. Nearly every building has a different architectural style, and the mismatch of them all means there is always something new to appreciate and stop to look at. Although i live near London, and am used to the city atmosphere, NYC defiantly has a totally different feel. As a whole it just feels so much more powerful and overwhelming(in a good way). The sheer height of the average building in comparison to ones in London, add to this massive powerful vibe, and make you feel so small. I was constantly wondering how tiny humans like us, could create such enormous sky scrapers.

This feeling was most prominent when we took the lift to the top of the Rockefeller building. On the way up you could learn about the history of the building, and see exactly how people built such a big structure. We chose to go to the 'top of the rock', as apposed to the empire state, because we wanted a clear view of the empire state itself, with it being such a clear piece of the New York high-line.

It was from the top of the rock that i had my first look at central park, and i was blown away by the size of such a massive area or greenery, in a crowded high rise city. Central park was breathtaking, and probably one of my favorite parts of the trip. It truly feels like an escape to the countryside in the middle of a city. Again it is such a noticeable part of films, but its really is as beautiful in real life.

The city at night was another amazing aspect of the trip. The way the city transforms into a lively bright place, really lives up to its reputation as the city that doesn't sleep. Times square was never not as exciting every time we walked through it.

The views from afar of the lit up city, like on the Brooklyn bridge, where equally as stunning.

Im so happy i went outside of my comfort zone and went on this trip, i really enjoyed it and it was a big tick off my bucket list.
